Our People

The Amos House program operates with a dedicated, experienced and professional staff.  Since the offices are within the facility, each member of the staff plays an important role in the success of families participating in the program and gains a complete understanding of the many challenges facing homeless families.

The Executive Director, Gladys McFarland, is responsible for day-to-day management of the program, reporting to and working with the Board of Directors.  Her work is complemented by our Service Coordinator, Annie West, and Case Manager, both of whom work directly with the participating families, helping to outline their goals, implement the necessary steps for success, and monitor progress along the way.  A Financial Administrator works on a part-time basis and is responsible for all accounting and financial aspects of the program.  To ensure safety of the families and facility, a part-time Program Assistant is on premises during non-business hours.

A volunteer Board of Directors, made up of individuals from various communities, is charged with overall direction and oversight of the program.  The Board meets on a monthly basis with the Executive Director to discuss policy and develop short and long range planning including fundraising, facilities, publicity, personnel and financing.  Board members serve two-year terms and are an important part of the success of the program.
